Relaunching my practice in Richmond has come with its fair share of challenges. Building something meaningful always has its peaks and valleys. But at the core of it is a mission I deeply believe in: providing quality physical therapy for runners.

My in-person Complete Runner's Assessment is divided into three seperate parts:

  • Understanding your history: we sit down for an in-depth review of the history of your pain and running goals. We go through your training program and I offer modifications to help keep you running while you heal.
  • Strength and mobility assessment: this includes a ground-up assessment of your strength and range of motion at each key joint system to help identify the problem and make a plan for recovery.
  • Running gait analysis: it's not always necessary to change your running pattern. However, recording your form helps personalize your home exercise program and helps me assess how your body moves while you run.

Respond to this email to get your Complete Runner's Assessment on the books.

If you’re new here, I first launched RunWell Clinic in 2021 in Arlington, VA. That’s when I really began to dive into the research behind treating recreational runners and refining a more specialized, intentional approach to care.

As both a physical therapist and a lifelong runner, my goal is to offer patient-centered, empathetic, and effective care to help people stay in the sport they love for the long run.

One of the most rewarding parts of this work has been guiding runners from dealing with pain to achieving personal bests in their goal races. I’ve had the privilege of seeing that transformation happen time and time again over the past five years.

I’m excited to bring that same level of care to the Richmond community and step into this next chapter of RunWell.

If you’re local, I’d love to work with you during this new season.

Is All Running Pain Connected?
Runners can often be experiencing pain in multiple locations at once. It's important to consider whether or not these pain points are all connected. I love running because it's a simple and accessible sport. All you need is a pair of shoes! (And then a watch, seasonal gear, long run fuel, race registrations and another twenty pairs of shoes.) 🤭 However, after years of studying the biomechanics ...
One Step Forward, Three Leaps Back
A universal truth about healing from injuries is that the process rarely goes exactly as we plan: smooth, instantaneous progress.  Healing is not a smooth linear trajectory to victory. Either physically or mentally. Recovering from pain can feel like a hard hike. There are inclines surmounted by small, quiet, hard-earned wins. But there are declines, where you wonder whether the progress you ma...

ANNOUNCEMENTS! 🎉 Hey Runners of Richmond, VA! If you’re in need of flexible physical therapy to address your run...
